    • Shell thickness cal. for stainless steel tanks having internal pressure greater than roof,Shell & attached framing - Wednesday, April 18, 2012 - Rajesh [634] 1 Stars
      Dear Sir,

For carbon steel tanks for such cases design liquid level is increased by adding equivalent head as per API 650 Sect F.7 P / 9.8 xg

But will the same concept is applicable for SS tanks .

      Please suggest

      Regards

Physics and mathematics does not change because the tank is a different material. You need to take into account all the loading to design the shell. See the API 650 appendix for stainless tanks.
