7018 is a slow rod to use for tank floor lap welds however, the quality of the weld is very good. You will get many fewer pin holes than you will with a 6010 rod. 7024 is great for speed and horizontal fillets, but if your welder gets moving too fast and starts to outrun the rod to increase his productivity just get it done, you will get pinholes. For me it comes down to comfort level on a leak free bottom. A two pass 7018 system is slow and will cost me money, but I sleep really well at night with a high level of confidence Im not going to have to chase a pinhole leak during a hydrotest. Or worse, Im not going to find a pinhole leak 4 months into service.

In the end, you need to make sure you vacuum box test all the welds and do it properly.

Using 6010 instead of 7018 on thinner plates is a factor for shell welds. The 6010 rod is not as prone to creating shell buckles.
