Has anyone had experience using Praxair Services Bottom Logic[TM] Corrosion Inhibitor solution VCI powders on existing tank bottom upgrades using a HDPE liner and no CP.I am working for a client that uses this on bottom replacements where a HDPE liner is used. IE the existing bottom remains in place and the HDPE liner is installed over the existing floor, sand, leak detection and the VCI is placed in the sand. The dead shell is seal welded to the new bottom to prevent water getting in.
I can pick, pull or drive a stripper on this as the owner has a monitoring program for the probes and has two sets of reference cells for testing.
I have not been asked my opinion of this, but it is not exactly 653. However the LPB and leak detection required by 6.4.2.2 can extend the inspection interval to 30 years. I guess until the first internal inspection is done to determine soil side corrosion there is no way to determine effectiveness.
If someone has experience or opinion, I would appreciate it.
