Mainly for cleaning purpose and I guess there must be some step-by-step procedure/guidelines what to do before and while emptying the tank...what to check...any precautionary measure etc. etc. Information about any standard guidline will be greatly appreciated...Thanks again

Why are you draining? You said you needed to perform maintenance, what kind of maintenance? Is it scheduled or is there a problem? Does the tank need to be cleaned? What are you temperature conditions is it winter or summer?
